Winter Weather Safety Tips

As Minnesotans we have experienced cold temperatures and winter storms, but are we truly prepared?  Here are some tips to ensure you are prepared for any type of winter weather Minnesota can give us.
Be sure you heating equipment is working in your modular home.  Make sure you inspect them yearly.
Plan what your alternate heating source will be, i.e., corn or wood burning stove, fireplace, etc.  Make sure you have enough alternate fuel on hand for several days.
Check your oil, propane or gas heating equipment vents to the outside to make sure they are clear and no fumes will build up inside your modular home.
Prepare a plan in the event you lose electricity.  A back-up generator is a good idea.
Cut away tree branches that could fall on a house or other structure during high wind storms.
Be prepared and safe.
